News April 2011
Greetings from our Studio and I wish you a very successful, healthy and happy 2011; and thank you for visiting Maritime Replicas.

Another "page has turned"-- in my never ending journey in this wonderful field of SHIP MODELLING—where there is a "never ending horizon" rather than a business to a "specific destination".

It is to be noted that numerous factors have caused a "New Page to Turn in my Life" in all respects, and I am very happy with this "new page", which has given me stimulation and motivation to move on to new and exciting developments and projects.

Life is never boring as I continually study and research EVERY type of vessel including the off-shore Oil Industry—always endeavoring to produce better and better—but at the same time contain costs and prices.

"CHEAP AIN'T GOOD--& GOOD AIN'T CHEAP" !

I saw this on a Billboard in Miami and It struck me as a good "motto" that Maritime Replicas should adopt! We agree with the Billboard.

We never build ‘cheap' models and always strive for the ultimate result.

This has its inherent problems as we cannot always obtain the full information that we require in order to produce the standard of quality that our Client requires—and that WE require.

If you are a new visitor to Maritime Replicas, we do not provide a huge list of models, but we produce mainly CUSTOM models of the finest standard; but we do have a limited number of CLASSIC SHIPS in stock for immediate shipment.

All of the vessels depicted on our Web are models that we HAVE produced—and can produce again.

The photos do not necessarily indicate that such vessels are not "in stock" nor the scale or length is "fixed".

We can supply ANY vessel to ANY length or scale and it is to be noted that many replicas have been produced up to 20 feet in length—the most dramatic one being at Port Canaveral with one side of its shell being removed and all of the interior furniture and furnishings very accurately replicated from the actual vessel being carefully modeled in very fine detail.

We also built THE MOST accurate model of the TITANIC to the scale of 1:48—18 feet long—but we did not indicate rivets!!! and it is still on world tour as far as we know.

Recently we completed the EDMUNDI FITZGERALD to the scale of 1:48—and this model is also Radio-Controlled.

We shall provide a so-called WISH LIST in future at the end of this NEWS—indicating vessels for which we have received inquiries—and ask you to add your name—and send to us—of any of the vessels indicated—OR—add a vessel that YOU would like produced.

I will eventually be relocating my Studio to a new address and after we do it, I will indicate it on this page. I hope that my phone number will still remain and of course, my email address will always remain—shipreplicas@yahoo.com.

We have noted two interesting items on the Web this month.

1) A Company has 'copied' our "Web format" and changed one letter and used our logo—and worst of all, have a series of ships that they indicate to have built that is a DIRECT 'steal' from our Web!

It is amazing how lazy, low and deceitful some people can be.

2) We note on MODELSHIPMASTER's site that they state—amongst other amazing statements—that THEY built models of CUNARD'S QUEEN VICTORIA and the models are on board this beautiful vessel.

I do not know which cloud these people are floating on but MARITIME REPLICAS has been the Model Company to CUNARD for some 30 years and it is OUR model that sits at the top of the stair leading up from the Main Lobby.

So how many more untruths does this Company tell in its lists of who it supplies to and obviously a great number of people possibly believe.

We certainly do not mind competition—but TRUTHFUL competition—not stealing from us and using our cost outlay, expertise and years of study, production and actual models for all of our most valued Clients. Dishonesty will eventually "backfire" on those who practice such deceit.

Ciao! until next time,
